We are currently seeking for a passionate and dynamic Engineering Manager who takes pride on their ability to deliver high-quality standards. This person will provide his full support to the Director of Engineering by coordinating maintenance duties & supervising the team within the Hotel. Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Provides feedback on the condition of the hotel and its needs for budget preparation. • Ensures compliance with Maintenance and Energy budgets in the hotel, reporting any deviations to the Director of Engineering. • Ensures compliance with technical and legal obligations in the hotel. • Performs the tasks assigned related to regulatory compliance following the guidelines received. • Attends unplanned inspections if they occur, replacing the Director of Engineering in morning briefings. • Support the Director of Engineering with any project that is required from time to time within the functions of Mercury Towers. • If any incidents are detected in the hotel, makes proposals for their correction and leads the implementation of any measures approved. • Perform frequent walk-throughs and visually assess the status of the Hotel building, all mechanical, Electrical, Gas, Water, Lifts, BMS, HVAC systems and any other related equipment • With regard to safety, ensures the coordination of business activities (documentation to be exchanged according to workplace risk regulations) with external companies within their area of responsibility. • Supervises the implementation by hotel engineers of measures related to preventative and corrective maintenance. Also performs some of these duties. • Regarding fire prevention, responsible for complying with procedures to safeguard the physical well-being of guests and employees and hotel facilities as defined in the relevant specific plans. • Ensures the continuity of supply in key hotel facilities: air-conditioning, hot and cold water, electricity supply, etc. • Implements energy-related policies and projects in the hotel • Provides feedback on the assigned suppliers. • Leads the maintenance warehouse inventories in order to verify its correct operation. • Supervises the work done by third-party companies in the hotel (works and subcontractors). • Ensures that daily energy use is registered to optimise the correct use of energy and the performance of facilities. • Ensures the quality of the data entered in the CMMS • Responsible for implementing the projects and actions defined by the Technical Office & Procurement department in the hotel • Guarantees the measurement and control of information on energy and water consumption and waste or any other information required by the Hotel Services / Corporate Services areas Requirements • A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or equivalent with a technical background. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in Malta • Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, material requisitions and construction methods for concrete and steel structures • Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with the business timetable • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work • Work well under pressure • Ability to present ideas effectively, evaluate the ideas of others, and possess excellent motivational & leadership skills • Good command of written and spoken English and Maltese language • Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential • Understands the work processes of other disciplines and departments on projects • Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal
