Job mission: As Head of Groups & Events Planning, you will be responsible for maximising hotel revenue through the planning, coordination, and delivery of all groups and events. You will lead and develop the Groups & Events Planning team, ensuring seamless execution from contracting to event delivery. Your mission is to drive financial performance across MICE, social events, and related services by implementing strategic planning actions while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction and operational excellence. Your responsibilities: • Support the Director of Sales – UK in the implementation of the MICE sales strategy in line with each hotel’s Business Plan • Prepare and supervise price quotations and negotiations for group enquiries (10+ rooms), maximising total revenue across rooms, event space, F&B and ancillary services. • Deliver the approved MICE budget for the cluster, achieving targets for room nights, room revenue, event room rental and associated F&B sales. • Prepare weekly business reviews, and forecasts for the MICE segment, providing detailed group revenue analysis by hotel and market origin. • Work closely with the Director of Sales to define, monitor and adjust MICE pricing strategies, sales conditions and need periods. • Lead, coach and support the Group Events Sales team, providing guidance on commercial decision-making and negotiations. • Ensure accurate management of group business through MARS (CRM) and Cvent, maintaining data integrity and correct system usage. • Drive conversion through proactive client engagement and site inspections, attending high-value inspections where required. • Ensure seamless communication and handover of confirmed group files to hotel operations, maintaining close collaboration with Conference & Banqueting teams.. What are we looking for: • Strong commercial, analytical, and leadership skills • Proven experience in MICE or group sales within a hotel environment • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills • Strong understanding of pricing, revenue management and forecasting • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management or leadership role
