🔎 About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to join the RIU London team as a Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will ensure that all hotel infrastructure, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained to the highest safety, regulatory, and brand standards.
You will lead a dedicated maintenance team, manage preventative maintenance schedules, coordinate with external contractors, and ensure a seamless, comfortable experience for all hotel guests.
💼 What You’ll Do Managing and supervising the engineering team, including technicians and maintenance staff, to ensure efficient and effective operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Planning and executing preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal functionality of all building systems.
Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Coordinating with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
Managing the budget for the engineering department, monitoring expenses, and ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
Ensuring the implementation of energy conservation measures and sustainable practices in line with the hotel's environmental initiatives.
Collaborating with other departments to support their operational needs and ensure a seamless guest experience.
Maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and warranties.
Overseeing the hotel's fire safety and emergency response procedures, conducting drills and training to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
✔️ What We’re Looking ForPrevious experience in facilities management or maintenance, ideally within a 4-star hospitality environment (or a comparable large-scale commercial property).
Solid understanding of UK health and safety legislation, fire safety regulations, and building compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong leadership skills, and effective communication skills.
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e.g., electrical, plumbing, or general engineering) are highly preferred.
