About Us
Wander Surf House is a new mid-sized hostel designed for simplicity, beauty, and connection. We provide both private double rooms and dorm bunk beds and can fit up to 36 people. We offer sea view accommodation, and we will be partnering with local surf schools, surf rentals and other sport instructors.
The location: Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz is a gem on Portugal’s West Coast — known for its wild beaches, golden cliffs, and consistent surf. It’s been a go-to destination for surfers since the 1960s and continues to draw wave lovers and nature seekers alike.
Key Responsibilities
• Operations oversight: daily property maintenance and ensure everything functions well
• Housekeeping: supervise and delegate cleaning duties
• Breakfast: coordinate and present breakfast service with care
• Check-in/out: manage arrivals and departures with warmth and efficiency
• Guest support: communicate with customers when appropriate via different channels
• Bookings: Manage bookings, avoid overbookings, and optimize occupancy
• Admin: manage budget, Issue invoices and organize monthly reports and accounts
• Staff Management: Recruit, train, and lead the small internal team
• Partnerships: coordinate with local partners (e.g., surf schools, equipment rental)
• Digital communication: Support social media and contribute to digital content
Key Requirements
• Fluency in Portuguese and English
• Excellent customer service and people skills
• Organized, proactive and problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable multitasking in a dynamic, guest-focused environment
• Working knowledge of MS Office and basic digital tools (knowledge of hotel management software is an advantage)
Conditions
• Duration: July to October, with possibility for extension
• Free accommodation near the hotel
• Competitive fixed salary

• 2 rotative days-off
