We treat our guests and our colleagues with respect and work hard together to deliver the highest quality of service to all. #LI-MR1 • Minimum 1 year experience in the same role • High School diploma or equivalent • Must be physically fit and a strong, competent swimmer • Dubai Lifeguard License • Communication and customer service skills • A professional appearance • Ability to enforce swimming pool rules in a considerate but firm manner • Good eyesight • Excellent powers of concentration; lifeguards must remain alert • Ability to react quickly and efficiently in a life threatening situation • Positive attitude FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. MELIA DESERT PALM DUBAI employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are: • Ensuring that swimmers behave in a safe fashion; this means enforcing rules relating to pool side conduct. • Removing a distressed swimmer from the water and resuscitating them if necessary at pool side. • Testing and regulating water temperature, PH levels, chlorine and higiene. • Aministering basic first aid for cuts and bruises. • Rescuing swimmers in danger and removing them from the área. • Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning. • Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations. • monitors activities at the pool to prevent accidents. • Follows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency. • Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas.  • Inspects facilities for cleanliness; completes general pool cleaning and maintenance duties • Responsible for the availability and safekeeping of emergency equipment (rescue tubes, backboard, signs and other equipment). • Provides general information on pool operation to patrons • Teaches swimming lessons. • Completes required paperwork. • To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the company’s policy and procedures. • To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the company’s policy related to fire, hygiene, health and safety. • To carry out the other duties as assigned by the management team. • To establish good relationship and rapport with guests and colleagues. • To ensure the cleanliness and hygiene in work areas.
