We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Steward to join our Food & Beverage operations, ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of our kitchen areas and equipment at all times.
What will you be doing?
• Ensure the safe storage, care, and use of all chemicals, protecting yourself and colleagues from incorrect or dangerous usage.
• Ensure correct usage of required safety equipment at all times, including gloves, boots, goggles, masks, or hats.
• Clean all surfaces, areas, and operating equipment under the control of stewarding to maintain the hotel's hygiene standards.
• Empty and clean waste bins and areas according to schedule.
• Ensure exit areas are kept free of obstacles at all times.
• Keep all dishwashing areas and equipment clean at all times, liaising with Engineering for maintenance as needed.
• Play an active and leading role in the hotel's energy-conservation and environmental policies and practices.
• Maintain the highest standards of Food Hygiene and adhere to all Health and Safety standards.
• Report and take appropriate action to correct any health or safety hazard.
• Liaise with Engineering regarding maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Instruct staff on emergency measures in case of an accident, and ensure a first aid kit is available and stocked in the kitchen, in collaboration with the hotel's clinic.
• Ensure all kitchen work areas are kept tidy and clean at all times.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
• Perform any other related duties as requested by Hotel Management.
What are we looking for?
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
• High School Diploma or relevant certificate.
• Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
• Strong teamwork orientation.
• Ability to work under pressure, self-motivated, with creative problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to respond to a range of work situations.
