It is owned by the Scherz family and is one of the last traditional family-run Grand Hotels - a Swiss landmark. From approx. October 2026 or by arrangement we are looking for a Assistant F&B Manager in permanent employment About the Role The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the Food & Beverage Manager in the daily leadership and smooth operation of all F&B outlets at Gstaad Palace. This is a highly hands-on role with a strong focus on service excellence, team leadership, financial awareness, and flawless guest experiences across restaurants, bars, banqueting, and events. Working closely with Purchasing and Cost Control, the position plays a key role in ensuring operational consistency, efficiency and luxury service standards in line with Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). Your tasks Support daily operations of all F&B outlets, banqueting, and in-room dining Be present on the floor during peak service to support teams and engage with guests Assist in leading, training, and motivating F&B service teams and managers Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and discreetly Support cost control, stock management, labor efficiency, and financial reporting Take responsibility for menu accuracy, formatting, translations, and POS programming Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, cash handling, and operational procedures Support the planning and execution of events, banquets, and VIP functions Maintain and develop SOPs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Benefits An exciting job in a 2-season operation, where variety in working hours and relaxation are guaranteed thanks to the hotel's opening hours An interesting position with a lot of responsibility in a dynamic team Attractive employment conditions as well as support for further education and internal training courses A mountain region that makes all dreams come true in nature and sport A workplace where tradition and family are lived A varied, independent and responsible field of activity in an international environment Employee discounts on hotel services A long-term perspective in a successful company
Requirements
• Hospitality degree or equivalent professional experience • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within luxury hospitality • Restaurant Manager background strongly preferred • Strong operational, organizational, and leadership skills • Confident with MS Office and POS systems (Kost & Matrix an advantage) • Guest-focused, proactive, reliable, and solution-oriented • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, split shifts, and peak periods • Fluent in English and French; additional languages are a plus
