The night auditor is responsible for checking the accuracy of the front desk accounting records. On a daily basis, summarise and compiles information for the hotel's financial records. Tracks room revenue, occupancy rates and other Font Office operational statistics. Executes the end of day/night audit process in Opera.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting colleagues when necessary.
Greet and welcome all guests upon arrival.
Check guests into the hotel promptly and courteously using sales techniques to maximise room rates; prepare for check-in and check-out of groups and VIP arrivals.
Balance and check the accuracy of room revenue and process No-Shows.
Balance and check the accuracy of all room and tax charges, cashier's reports and house accounts.
Perform daily the following reports that are sent to the management team: Manager Flash report, Trial balance, AR Aging Detail Report, Guest Ledger Detail Report, Market Segment Report, Open Balance Report, Day/Month/Year Stat Report, posting journal report.
Complete and transmit daily management, accounting reports and supporting documents.
Communicate with other hotel departments as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request or provide information.
Communicate effectively and genuinely with guests, team members and other departments.
Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly manner; follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assist guests with luggage.
Attend and participate in all hotel and department meetings, training sessions and other briefings.
Perform additional duties as requested by the Front Office Manager and/or FO Supervisors or Assistant FO Manager.
What are we looking in you?
Degree in hospitality management preferred.
Prior hotel experience preferred. Prior experience within a Four Star hotel brand preferred.
Ability to utilize computer software and hardware required. Ability to easily maneuver on computer keyboard required, multitask,
Ability to comprehend and speak English to understand and respond to information and address advanced guest requests required both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of additional language(s) preferred.
Must be customer-service oriented and have excellent hospitality skills.
