With Big Mamma’s rapid expansion, we’re taking an exciting step into a new European capital – landing in Dublin! We’re looking for a passionate and driven Assistant General Manager to join La Squadra and lead the launch of our brand-new trattoria in the heart of the city.
As an Assistant General Manager, you are the right hand of the General Manager, helping lead operations with energy, precision, and heart. You are responsible for delivering excellent service, developing the team, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly - always with the Big Mamma touch!
Support the GM in the daily running of the venue, ensuring smooth service from opening to close.
Maintain a warm, energetic atmosphere in the restaurant, where every guest feels welcomed and cared for.
Act as a bridge between departments - front-of-house, kitchen, bar, and headquarters - ensuring clear communication and efficient coordination.
Proactively identify and implement opportunities to elevate the guest experience.
Ensure cleanliness, compliance, and overall site readiness at all times.Mastering health & safety procedures, ensuring compliance, and confidently responding to incidents or challenging situations.
Demonstrate confidence with POS systems, booking platforms, reporting tools, and other digital operations software to support smooth daily service.
Support the GM in monitoring key KPIs (sales, spend per head, staff costs, etc.)
Ensure shift schedules are adapted based on business levels, supporting proper labor planning.
Assist in stock management and monthly inventory processes.
Take initiative in identifying performance gaps and proposing solutions with the GM.
Lead and report on daily and weekly performance where needed.
Maintain awareness of budget targets and cost efficiency, and help implement cost control strategies to meet financial goals.
Inspire and lead by example: act as a role model for hospitality, energy, and professionalism on the floor.
Support team management: provide feedback, coaching, and performance input to line managers and team leaders.
Participate actively in team training and development, ensuring Big Mamma values are lived and shared.
Support recruitment and onboarding processes in coordination with the GM and HQ.
Take responsibility for certain HR-related follow-ups (e.g. probation reviews, absence management).
Contribute to staff retention and succession planning by recognising team members with strong potential, supporting internal growth opportunities
Own the guest experience during service: from greeting to farewell.
Manage and resolve customer complaints with professionalism, positivity, and discretion.
Encourage feedback and ensure online reputation remains strong by delivering consistent top-tier service.
Support the organization and delivery of private events with flair and precision.
