We are seeking a Recreation Manager to lead our Gym and Pool operations, driving service excellence while curating innovative and meaningful wellness offerings.

As Recreation Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of our Gym and Pool operations, leading a dynamic team to deliver world-class service and craft engaging wellness journeys for our guests.#LI-MR1 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all Gym and Recreation guests enjoy a seamless, high-quality customer journey from arrival to departure.
  • Execute efficient customer relationship management strategies to strengthen guest loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Identify and explore new revenue opportunities while actively optimizing costs to support business goals.
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the Gym and Pool areas, ensuring smooth service delivery, operational efficiency, and adherence to Meliá brand standards.
  • Design and implement innovative wellness programs and recreational activities that enhance the guest experience and reflect the brand’s values.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels for lifeguards, pool attendants, and fitness personnel in line with hotel occupancy and business needs.
  • Uphold health and safety protocols, including pool water quality monitoring, lifeguard certification compliance, rescue equipment maintenance, and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to support promotional campaigns, strategic partnerships, and seasonal programming aligned with wellness trends.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, control operating costs, manage inventories, and support financial forecasting efforts to achieve economic targets.
  • Address and resolve guest feedback and incidents professionally and promptly, working in collaboration with the Guest Experience team to implement service recovery and continuous improvement plans.
  • Drive team development by supporting training, performance management, and recognition initiatives, while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis to ensure that the Gym and Pool offerings remain current, appealing, and in line with market expectations.
  • Participate in sustainability, wellness, and climate action initiatives in line with the hotel’s values and broader objectives

Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing recreation, wellness, or fitness operations in a hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for team and guest satisfaction
  • Operational understanding of health & safety standards, lifeguard procedures, and wellness programming
  • Creativity, drive, and a hospitality mindset
