About the job Based at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, within the Deessa Department in Madrid, the Commis Cook supports the kitchen team in the preparation, handling and presentation of culinary products, ensuring quality, hygiene and safety standards are consistently met. The role reports to the Chef de Partie, and in their absence, to the First or Second Chef de Cuisine. As Commis Cook, you will be responsible for the following duties: • Support daily kitchen operations and food preparation according to Mandarin Oriental standards. • Assist across different Food & Beverage outlets when operationally required. • Prepare basic culinary items under supervision and complete assigned mise en place tasks. • Ensure proper handling, storage and conservation of food products and ingredients. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, equipment and utensils. • Follow food safety, hygiene, HACCP, Safe & Sound and FLHSSE standards at all times. • Work collaboratively with kitchen colleagues and other hotel departments. As Commis Cook, we expect from you: • Previous experience in a Michelin kitchen environment, preferably within hospitality or luxury settings. • Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills under supervision. • Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork and attention to detail. • Ability to remain calm, organized and efficient in a fast-paced environment. • Commitment to quality, safety and Mandarin Oriental values.
