Job Mission The Line Cook at Meliá Durres is responsible for the preparation, regeneration, and presentation of meals in the assigned kitchen. This role is crucial in ensuring that all dishes meet the hotel's quality standards and recipes, focusing on creativity, composition, seasoning, and presentation to ensure guest satisfaction and preference for hotel food. What You Will Do • Food Preparation: Comply with instructions regarding shifts, work schedules, duties, and workloads. Prepare dishes according to quality standards, recipes, and photographs, ensuring portion sizes are monitored and waste is minimized. • Kitchen Organization: Organize cold stores and refrigerators to ensure the correct use of products. Verify that refrigerated products are in good condition and stored at appropriate temperatures. • Order Delivery: Deliver all orders from the consumption area efficiently and timely, complying with specifications regarding garnishes, cooking times, etc. • Compliance and Safety: Comply with HACCP, safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards. Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and order, minimizing the risk of accidents. • Quality Assurance: Ensure that products used in preparations meet quality, quantity, and performance standards. Report any anomalies or defects to the immediate superior. • Communication: Maintain close communication with the immediate superior to coordinate interactions with other kitchen areas, the consumption area, and other departments in the hotel. Inform the supervisor about any issues that may affect operations. What We Are Looking For • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position in 4 or 5-star hotels. • Education: University degree and/or higher qualification in Tourism; training in Gastronomy/Culinary/Cooking; training in Food Handling. • Skills: Knowledge of food handling, hygiene, and food safety; culinary knowledge; proficiency in Office package and tools related to the position. • Qualities: Teamwork, passion for service, customer-oriented attitude, team spirit, and proactivity. • Languages: Proficiency in the Albanian language. English is an advantage. • Knowledge: Knowledge of hotel operations and versatility within the services offered.
