As Executive Chef, you will lead the culinary vision of Sol Tropikal by Meliá, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and guest satisfaction. Your mission is to implement the brand’s gastronomic strategy, optimize kitchen operations, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver exceptional dining experiences that reflect both local flavors and international trends. Your leadership will directly impact the hotel's reputation, profitability, and guest loyalty.

🍽️ What You Will Do
As Executive Chef, you will be responsible for:

Strategic Culinary Leadership

  • Implement Meliá’s F&B strategy and culinary standards, adapting them to local needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and sustainability standards.
  • Lead the execution of centralized kitchen procedures and brand-specific manuals.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and consistency.
  • Monitor food costs, margins, and profitability, proposing corrective actions when needed.
  • Supervise external F&B partners and ensure alignment with brand standards.

Team Development & HR Collaboration

  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff, identifying high-potential talent.
  • Conduct performance reviews and promote wellness and engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR on staffing, training plans, and team climate improvement.

Food Safety & Sustainability

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations and audit requirements.
  • Promote local gastronomy, healthy eating, and food waste reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee waste separation and sustainability practices in the kitchen.

Customer Experience & Brand Identity

  • Personalize guest experiences through culinary excellence and sensory design.
  • Manage guest feedback and incidents, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Promote hotel services and experiences through your team.

Marketing & Budget Management

  • Support F&B marketing campaigns and adapt them to the hotel’s context.
  • Participate in budget planning, P&L analysis, and investment proposals.Track KPIs and implement action plans to meet financial goals.

🔍 What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a passionate and experienced culinary leader who brings:

  • Education & Training: Degree in Tourism, Culinary Arts, or related fields. Ongoing training in gastronomy is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role within 4 or 5-star hotels.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English.
  • Technical Skills:
          Expertise in food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management.
          Strong knowledge of culinary trends and innovation.
          Proficiency in Microsoft Office and kitchen management tools.
  • Leadership Qualities:
          Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
          Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
          Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams.
          Commitment to sustainability and guest-centric service.
