PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Hotel Operations Assistant is a multi-functional role that supports the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel. The position combines guest-facing duties, such as welcoming and assisting guests with luggage, with operational support tasks, including stock organisation, delivering amenities to rooms, light checks on electrical items, and maintaining the presentation of the property.

The role requires a proactive, hands-on individual with a flexible approach who enjoys varied tasks and contributes to delivering Nido’s high standards of service and guest satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):


Guest Support

• Welcome and assist guests upon arrival and departure, including support with luggage.
• Deliver requested amenities to guest rooms (e.g. extra pillows, hairdryers, toiletries).
• Provide helpful information to guests regarding hotel services and local attractions.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, ensuring excellent service standards.
• Conduct simple checks on guest issues (e.g. identifying if an issue may be a fuse) before escalating to maintenance.
• Assist with basic guest complaints, aiming for effective resolution before escalating to the front desk team.

Operational Support

• Organise and maintain hotel inventory to ensure adequate stock levels and easy access.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and supplies, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
• Support housekeeping and reception teams in maintaining a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment.
• Assist with waste management, including placing bins out for collection.
• Support minor set-up and relocation tasks within the hotel (e.g. moving small furniture or equipment).
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety, or cleaning needs.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to manageme

Compliance & Safety

• Support the implementation of health and safety standards across the hotel.
• Report hazards, incidents, or potential risks in line with hotel procedures.
• Ensure compliance with guest service standards and escalate concerns when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to speak and write fluently in English; additional languages desirable.
• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused with a professional demeanour.
• Ability to plan, multitask, and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced
• environment.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on varied tasks.
• Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
• Physically able to support luggage handling and light operational duties.
