We're Looking for a Host(ess) At Yurbban Hospitality Group, we are looking for a Host(ess) to join our Food & Beverage Front of House team in Miami South Beach, FL. Under the guidance of the F&B Supervisor or Manager, the Host(ess) will be responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and positive first impression for every guest. This role plays a key part in managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, supporting the smooth flow of service, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience from the very first interaction. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a polished and friendly attitude, excellent organization, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Responsibilities • Welcome all guests with warmth, professionalism, and poise, delivering a refined first impression aligned with luxury hospitality service standards. • Manage restaurant reservations through OpenTable, ensuring accuracy, attention to guest preferences, VIP notes, and special requests. • Seat guests with intention and discretion, balancing sections strategically to support smooth service flow and an elevated dining experience. • Maintain continuous awareness of the dining room, pacing, and guest satisfaction, communicating proactively with servers, supervisors, and management. • Assist with table setup, proper place settings, and occasional pre-bussing as needed to maintain presentation and service excellence. • Provide full support to the front-of-house team during service, stepping in when necessary to uphold standards during high-volume or peak periods. • Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and presentation at the host stand and throughout guest-facing areas. • Act as an ambassador of the hotel and restaurant brand, maintaining professionalism, discretion, and polished communication at all times. • Communicate clearly and positively with teammates and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations. • Remain calm, attentive, and responsive during busy periods, emergency situations, or high-pressure service moments. • Support the team by covering breaks, vacations, and call-outs when needed. • Ensure compliance with all operational policies, including health and safety, Food Handler requirements, alcohol compliance, maintenance standards, and emergency procedures. • Attend mandatory meetings, including departmental and staff meetings. • Participate in community events and support the corporate social responsibility goals of Yurbban Hospitality Group. • Complete other duties as assigned by the department head. • Ensure compliance with Yurbban Hospitality Group's policies, procedures, and service standards. • Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment and participate in the shared tip pool, receiving a portion of team tips in accordance with established policies. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in similar roles. • Current Food Handler Card or in the process of obtaining certification. • Additional language skills are preferred. • Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations during busy periods. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. • Professional, gracious, friendly, and polished demeanor. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment. • Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships with employees, managers, and departments. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to understand and apply written product labeling instructions to ensure the safe use of products and processes within the restaurant or hotel. • Must be able to stand or walk for a minimum eight-hour shift. • Must be observant and quick to respond to different situations while multitasking. • Must be able to twist, push, pull, reach, bend, climb, and carry objects as necessary. • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors throughout the year, depending on business needs and volume. • Must be able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs without assistance and push or pull up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment. Schedule: This position requires full availability, including weekends and holidays, according to business needs. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules. Work Location: Miami South Beach, FL. Physical Demands: This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items as needed. Work Authorization: Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. FLSA Classification: Hourly, non-exempt tipped position. Grooming & Uniforms: All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and required clothing will be explained during the orientation process. Safety Requirements: Personal protective equipment may be required when performing work duties that could involve health or safety risks. The restaurant will provide the required equipment and training. Team members are responsible for reporting defective, damaged, lost, or improperly fitting equipment to their manager.
