Let’s Go Lisbon! Opening in 2026, The Standard, Lisbon will bring our signature, design-driven hospitality to the city. Located at Palácio Santa Clara above Alfama, the hotel blends historic character with bold contemporary style, offering 165 guestrooms, 24 apartments, lively restaurants and bars, gardens, a spa, gym, rooftop terrace, and event spaces. We are now looking for a Director of Sales to help lead our pre-opening efforts and introduce The Standard to the Lisbon market. Your Role As Director of Sales, you’ll work closely with the General Manager, Executive Team, and Global Sales to drive all sales activity for the hotel. During the pre-opening phase, you’ll oversee key sales projects and ensure our strategy is rolled out smoothly ahead of launch. Once open, you’ll help define the revenue budget, lead the property sales team, and grow market share, ADR, and RevPAR across all segments. You will collaborate with Revenue and Marketing on promotions and packages that support monthly targets. You’ll be the main contact for key accounts, lead the annual RFP process, and play a central role in building awareness of The Standard through networking, client meetings, hard-hat tours, fam trips, and opening events. The role also includes international travel to key markets in Portugal, Europe, Brazil, and the USA to support broader brand development. This is a fast-paced, high-energy position suited to someone confident, social, and resilient, who enjoys building relationships and creating excitement around a new lifestyle destination. About You You bring 5+ years of senior hotel sales experience, including 3 years as Director of Sales in a lifestyle or 4-/5-star hotel in Lisbon or Portugal. You understand the Lisbon market, key feeder markets, and travel trends, and you have strong project management abilities. Pre-opening experience is an advantage. You have experience developing budgets and sales plans, along with a creative, results-driven approach to developing sales initiatives. You also bring a strong network across Corporate, Groups, MICE, or Entertainment and have experience leading a sales team. Calm under pressure, you have excellent negotiation, reporting, and communication skills. You hold relevant hospitality qualifications, are fluent in Portuguese and English, and have strong admin and IT skills. Flexibility during pre-opening and EU work eligibility are required.
