Job Description

What you will have to do:
 

Customer Interaction:

  • Welcome guests warmly, take and serve food and drink orders efficiently, while offering suggestions and upselling menu items when appropriate.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally, ensuring quick resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to any requests or concerns.

Support to Team:

  • Assist the F&B Manager in supervising daily restaurant operations, ensuring all standards are met.
  • Help oversee junior staff and assist with on-the-job training to maintain high service levels.
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the hotel’s quality standards.

Order Management:

  • Ensure that all food and beverage orders are accurately communicated to the kitchen and bar, following up to ensure timely delivery.
  • Assist in organizing service flow during peak hours and special events, ensuring smooth coordination between the kitchen, bar, and floor staff.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to fulfill special requests and dietary requirements.

Preparation and Setup:

  • Assist in setting up the restaurant before each service, including table settings, cleaning, and ensuring all supplies are ready for smooth operations.
  • Ensure that tables are clean, properly set, and well-organized at all times during service.

Inventory and Supplies:

  • Assist in managing the inventory, ensuring sufficient stock of tableware, beverages, etc.
  • Monitor supplies and work with the F&B manager to place orders as needed.
     

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience as a Waiter or Senior Waiter, ideally in a 4- or 5-star hotel or fine dining establishment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Solid knowledge of food and beverage service, with the ability to recommend and upsell items
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to provide guidance and support to junior waitstaff
  • Fluent in Greek and English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
