Job mission:
As Head of Groups & Events Planning, you will be responsible for maximising hotel revenue through the planning, coordination, and delivery of all groups and events. You will lead and develop the Groups & Events Planning team, ensuring seamless execution from contracting to event delivery. Your mission is to drive financial performance across MICE, social events, and related services by implementing strategic planning actions while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities:
• Proactively hunt for new high-potential corporate, government and pharmaceutical accounts to drive group and catering revenue.
• Achieve a minimum number of weekly sales appointments through office visits, site inspections, FAM trips and virtual meetings.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within managed accounts.
• Negotiate rates in line with hotel objectives, Business Plan targets and a focus on high-ADR production.
• Analyse corporate sales performance on a weekly basis, reviewing account production and implementing corrective actions where required.
• Review market analysis, RGI performance and competitor activity with the Director of Sales to improve hotel results.
• Participate in sales blitzes, roadshows, presentations, networking events, FAM trips and other sales initiatives to achieve annual targets.
• Create and execute Account Development Plans in alignment with the Director of Sales and overall sales strategy.
• Support wider sales team activities including show rounds, presentations, reports, networking events and special projects.
