Lead the overall management, operation and commercial development of the Rooftop, ensuring an outstanding guest experience, strong operational standards and sustainable revenue performance.

The role combines operational excellence with creativity, commercial awareness and a “think outside the box” mindset, positioning the Rooftop as a vibrant destination within the hotel and the local market.

Responsibilities and Competencies

1. Restaurant operations and service excellence

Manage the daily operation of the Rooftop restaurant and bar, ensuring high standards of service, presentation, hygiene and guest experience.

Coordinate the restaurant team, including shift organization, service preparation and daily operational priorities.

Ensure compliance with operating procedures, brand standards, food safety and health and safety requirements.

Monitor service quality, remain visible during service periods and address guest feedback promptly and professionally.

2. Customer experience

Create a welcoming, engaging and distinctive atmosphere aligned with the positioning of the Rooftop.

Build strong relationships with hotel guests, external customers and regular clients.

Anticipate guest expectations and promote personalized, authentic and memorable interactions.

3. Commercial and strategic development

Develop and implement initiatives aimed at increasing footfall, average spend, revenue and customer loyalty.

Identify opportunities to attract both hotel guests and the external and local market.

Analize business performance, customer behavior, demand patterns and market trends to identify commercial opportunities.

Contribute to pricing, menu positioning, promotions and revenue-generating concepts.

Monitor local competitors and F&B trends, introducing ideas that strengthen differentiation and commercial relevance.

Approach the Rooftop as a business unit with clear revenue and profitability potential.

4. Events, entertainment and Rooftop activation

Create and coordinate a calendar of events and entertainment concepts designed to drive traffic and reinforce the Rooftop’s positioning.

Develop initiatives such as themed evenings, sunset experiences, music sessions, gastronomic events and seasonal activations.

Continuously propose innovative experiences consistent with the hotel’s positioning and target audiences.

Coordinate operational requirements with internal departments and external partners.

Assess the commercial impact of activations and recommend improvements based on results and customer feedback.

5. Marketing, communication and partnerships

Work closely with Marketing and Sales to promote Rooftop events, experiences and special initiatives.

Contribute ideas and content opportunities for digital communication and social media.

Develop relationships with relevant local partners and stakeholders to increase visibility and reach.

Help establish the Rooftop as a destination in Lagos, rather than solely an outlet serving hotel guests.

6. Team leadership

Lead, motivate and develop the restaurant team, fostering accountability, engagement and exceptional customer service.

Provide regular coaching and on-the-job training.

Ensure the team understands the operational, customer and commercial objectives of the Rooftop.

Promote collaboration between Restaurant, Bar, Kitchen, Front Office, Sales, Marketing and other hotel departments.

Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management and team development activities.

7. Financial and performance management

Monitor revenue, costs, productivity and operational performance.
Support budget preparation, forecasting and cost-control activities.
Manage staffing and resources efficiently according to expected business volumes.
Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions when required.
Balance an exceptional customer experience with profitability and sustainable operational performance.

Experience and Qualifications

Previous management experience in Restaurants, Bars or Food & Beverage operations, preferably in an upscale, lifestyle or high-quality hospitality environment.

Proven team leadership and operational management experience.

Strong customer service, guest relations and communication skills.

Commercial awareness and understanding of restaurant financial performance.

Experience in events, venue activation or F&B promotional initiatives is highly valued.

Fluency in Portuguese and English; additional languages are an advantage.

Availability and flexibility to work according to operational requirements, including evenings, weekends and key events.
