Job description
As a Groups & Events Associate, you will support the successful conversion and coordination of group bookings and social/corporate events at the InterContinental Porto. You will work closely with the Sales, Events and Operations teams to ensure seamless communication, exceptional guest experience, and revenue generation through efficient handling of group and event enquiries.
Your day to day:
- Respond to group and event enquiries in a timely, professional, and brand-consistent manner.
- Assist in preparing proposals, contracts, and function sheets.
- Support the Groups & Events Sales Manager with the planning and execution of all group and event bookings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the hotel's CRM and events management systems (e.g. Delphi, Opera).
- Liaise with clients to confirm details, preferences, and special requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments (F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping, etc.) to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Assist in site inspections and client meetings, providing warm and knowledgeable service.
- Ensure all documentation and billing processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow IHG brand standards and uphold the service excellence expected in a luxury hotel environment.
- Actively contribute to achieving departmental sales targets and KPIs.
What we need from you:
- Previous experience in sales, events, or front-of-house in a luxury hospitality environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication in English (Portuguese and other languages are a plus).
- Customer-focused, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospitality systems (Sales Force).
- Positive attitude and a collaborative team player.
